Euna Lee & Laura LingFor those of you were in a daze for the past four in a half months. There were two American journalist (Laura Ling and Euna Lee) that were arrested by North Korean military on the Chinese border on March 17th. They were arrested for the illegal entry as U.S. reporters into the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea). The journalist were in China filming a documentary on North Korean defectors who reside there. The two woman were sentenced to 12 years in labor camps, "for the grave crime the committed against the Korean nation and their illegal border crossing."
Many heart wrenching pleas of their release were made by their families, committed friends and supporters.
Former US president Bill Clinton and North Korea's leader Kim Jong-il poseAs of this morning the two journalist have been pardoned and released, thanks to former President Bill Clinton who flew to Korea to ask for their release. Clinton held an in-depth meeting on issues how the US and the DPRK can understand each other better and improve relations between one another.
The report from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, described the agreement to release the journalists as "a manifestation of the DPRK's humanitarian and peace-loving policy."
Way to go Billy Boy!!! Laura and Euna are now en route back to their families with former prez clinton.
Goes to show you anything is possible if you BELIEVE.
