BEN LYONS SINGS HIS PRAISE OVER HOLY ROLLERS

Holy Rollers - movie posterBen Lyons from E! Entertainments, TheDaily 10 hosted a screening for a select group last night in Hollywood.

The movie:  Holy Rollers

The Place: Voyeur Nightclub

First off who even knew Voyeur had a projection screen! There's nothing like watching a movie about Hesidic Jews going to nightclubs in a nightclub.  I personally loved the movie.  It's based off of a true story that took place in Brooklyn,  about these kids from an Orthodox Jewish community who were lured into becoming Ecstasy dealers by there pal who has ties to an Israeli drug cartel.

You cant help but to fall in love with each of the characters played by Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Bartha, Ari Graynor and Danny A.

Jesse Eisenberg who you might also recognize from Zombieland, may just be my new favorite actor.  His, innocents, wit and boyish charm definitely will captivate the audience.

At points the movie did tend to move along a little slowly, but the journey of these Jewish drug dealers is so fascinating, its worth the wait.

Besides the fact that drugs = bad.

I was sad to be reminded how some religious families turn their backs on their own during mistakes, failures or bad choices.

At the end of the day no one is perfect (well maybe Justin Bieber), we all make mistakes and we move on.  Soooo, don't make the mistake of missing this movie!

EVERYONE WET THEIR PANTS N THE "HOT TUB TIME MACHINE"

Carlos E. Lopez, Stephanie Pratt, Ben Lyons & Sophia Rossi @ the Arclight Cinemas Last night Ben Lyons hosted a private screening of "Hot Tub Time Machine" at the Arclight Theatre in Hollywood.

There was a cocktail hour prior to the screening and movie goers started to slowly shed off articles of clothing before they entered the "Hot Tub Time Machine".

The movie was funny, the crowd had fun and I would definitely go for a second dip in the Hot Tub Time Machine just to see that movie again.

If you love the 80's, Hot Tubs, to laugh and Time Machines then you will Love this movie.

Also if you would like to win two tickets to Ben Lyons next screening.  Twitter a picture of yourself in hot tub to me @carlosncharge.  I'll choose the most creative.

MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG PARADES AROUND W/ BEN LYONS

 Gossip Girl's - Michelle Trachtenberg & The Daily 10's - Ben Lyon's at the Macy's Day Parade

We are still thankful over here at NeverWood High.  Well, thankful that is to film critic and entertainment journalist, Ben Lyons for his up close and personal footage of him attending the Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade.

Ben met up with "Gossip Girl's", Michelle Trachtenberg and paraded around New York City on Thanksgiving day morning.  Tracty was there promoting her new NBC show "Mercy", which is about three nurses who deal with patients and their personal issues at Mercy Hospital.

I've always loved the idea of parades, they are so over the top, in your face and always a lil quirky.  When I was younger I would gather up the neighborhood kids and march around the neighborhood in my own parade.  We didn't go very far as I lived on a cul-de-sac and just wound up going in circles until it we were called in for dinner.

We'd like to give another thanks to the guy you all have to GET FAMILIAR with, the one the only Ben Lyons from E! Entertainment and the always lovely Michelle Trachtenberg.

FROM KELLY OSBOURNE, 2 LIL WAYNE @ QUINCY JONES

Kelly Osbourne, Luke Worrall and Carlos E. LopezNeverWood High was at Dancing with the Stars last night in support of friend Kelly Osbourne and her partner Louis Van Amstel.  Susan Boyle gave a special surprise performance and we grooved with the dancers in our seat that was next to Latoya Jackson.  After leaving the CBS lot for DWTS, I thought my night was complete.

But nooooo...

America's film critic and entertainment journalist, Ben Lyons, invited me to a private screening of The Carter at the home of the legendary Quincy Jones.

The Carter is a documentary about Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. aka Lil' Wayne. An internationally known rapper, his most recent album went platinum in a week. But this ain't no VH1 rock doc. Rather, it is an intoxicating, cinematic journey into the thoughts and world of an extremely complicated man whose creative force is something to behold. He never stops recording. He has a portable studio that he carries around in a black bag, and it allows him to lay down a track anytime anywhere. It is his pressure valve and makes him a refreshing anomaly in a sea of manufactured prefab ""singers."" His work is his own: unfiltered, uncensored, raw, and powerful. Following him all over the country and to Amsterdam, this film mixes fly-on-the-wall footage of Lil' Wayne in his hotel room and on his bus with artfully composed concert footage. The result is a shockingly intimate portrait of one of the most inspired (and eccentric) musicians of modern America.

The best part of the night was the discussion held in Quincy Jones screening room.  Everyone took part in offering their opinion on art reflecting life, music and violence, men who paved the way for other men and the impact celebrities have on the youth today.

I walked away from the night with two amazing quotes by Quincy, that I will probably never forget.

"Humility with your creation, grace with your success"

"Not one drop of myself worth depends on your acceptance of me"

NeverWood High would like to thank Quincy Jones, Chamillionaire, Tyrese Gibson, F. Gary Gray , Ben Lyons, Sal Masekela, Catt Sadler, Ashlan Gorse & Douda Runway for a very insightful evening.  One that wont ever be forgotten.
