BAND CLASS 101: FOREIGNER - THE O.G. "JUKEBOX HERO"

Foreigner is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world, racking up scores of smash hits, multi-platinum albums, and sold out concert tours.

The bands website describes them as a thrilling mix of blustery blues and impeccably crafted pop that continues to captivate generation after generation of music fans.

Over 70 million albums later, Foreigner kept it in the family by performing at the JCPenneys and I ♡ RONSON event last week.

Singing hits from “Cold As Ice” to “Hot Blooded,” “Urgent” to “Jukebox Hero,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You” to the chart topper “I Want To Know What Love is."

Designer Charlotte Ronson was front row and center cheering on twin sister Samantha Ronson as she joined in with the legendary band Foreigner.

The crowd immediately reached for their iphones setting them to the lighter app and started to raise their hands in the air, while singing along.

Party goers ♡'s were filled from some good 'ol rock-n-roll and stuffed from the In-N-Out truck that was right outside the party.

Over all it was a magical night, we were in, we were out, we were Foreign to some classic tunes, partied on JCPenneys dime and all left saying...

I ♡ RONSON!

MISSONI, MR. CHOWS & DEREK BLASBERG... OH MY!

Derek Blasberg book "Exceptional Advice for the Lady" CLASSYClassy cupcakes for the perfect ladyI've got to say, it's been awhile since a "CLASSY" party has hit LA.  Awards show parties (minus the Grammy's), yes. Any Vogue affiliated party, always.  A trashy fete thrown by your local Billionaire, ill take it!

Everyone knows the fun people rarely go out in Hollywood anymore, at least since Hyde Lounge back in 2006-2007.  But, last Thursday Derek Blasberg brought the class acts out from HYDE-ing.

The "it girls", the socials, the important editors and my favorite "the euros!"

We started the night off at the new Missoni store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills for Derek's book party hosted by Kate Bosworth, Margherita Missoni, Nicole Richie and style.com's Editor-in-Chief, Dirk Standen.  After such a "CLASSY" celebration, VIP's went to Mr. Chow's where everyone definitely chowed down and drank up.

R.Kelly's song "Ignition" pretty much sums up how the rest of the night turned out...

Then after the show its the (after party)
And after the party its the (hotel lobby)
And round about 4 you gotta (clear the lobby)

Can I get a toot toot - Can I get a beep beep

Congratulations Derek on such a successful evening!

DEREK BLASBERG IS A CLASS ACT

Spring has sprung in New York CityThom Kaier no his homework assignment 4 NeverWood High

Yesterday, we gave NeverWood High's NY based student Thomas Kaier a homework assignment.

To read and give us a full book report on Derek Blasberg's book Classy: Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady.

Thom took to the streets (Madison & Sixty First) in search of some classy chicks.

and here's what he found...

On the second floor of Barneys New York, Vogue's Lauren Santo Domingo, Actress Chloe Sevigny & Editor-in-chief's Pop magazine Dasha Zhukova hosted the "Classy" celebration for writer Derek Blasberg.

While guest picked up their copies of the book, The Misshapes DJ'd to the rooms enjoyment.  Followed by sounds of colliding champagne glasses, double kisses and girls saying "she's sooo not classy".

Some guest included:

SuperDuper model Jessica Stam, fashion designers Lazaro Hernandez, Jack McCollough, Tamara Mellon, Zac Posen, Charlotte Ronson, Rachel Roy, Tory Burch, Hotelier Andre Balazs & famed fashion photographer Terry Richardson who all came out to support Blasberg's latest accomplishment.

SISTER ACT: ☆-ING, THE HILTONS & THE COLLIN SISTERS

Novelist-Jackie Collins, Designer-Nicky Hilton, Entrepreneur-Paris Hilton & Actress-Joan Collins @ the Hiltons Holiday party Dec. 2009

Joan and Jackie Collins in the 1950s

Tis the season...

Because that's exactly what NeverWood High did over the weekend at a holiday soiree hosted by the Hiltons at their private residence in Los Angeles.  The holidays are always a favorite time of year for me, they are filled with joy, laughter, celebration and eggnog with a splash of Brandy.  They always seem to bring everyone closer together, families, friends, co-workers, shoppers, children and dazzling sisters that turn the phrase "It Girls" into a powerful "Dynamic Duo".

Amongst the many characters who were in attendance, some dripped in diamonds, some from family dynasties and others just familiar faces of the glamorous Hollywood elite.Jackie & Joan Collins posing for a photo - Jan. 1, 1974

But, one of my choice moments of the evening was the magnetic pairing of not one sister combo but two!

There have always been those memorable Sister Moments, when a world ruled by maleness was suddenly challenged by women who grew up together and then took on that world together.

This synchronization of appearance and action has always made sisterhood fascinating. Whether in life, in the media, in books, paintings or films, we've never gotten enough of sisterhood.

Some say the sister protocol came from Truman Capote and his writing of, "the Bouvier Conspiracy" which was the occasion of Jackie and Caroline Lee Bouvier whispering to each other in public.  Thus drawing attention away from topics like the Cold War and mesmerizing peoples minds via beauty, glamour and several spectacular marriages.

Jacqueline Bouvier with her sister, Caroline Bouvier at the Debutante's BallSuddenly sisterhood was a world spectacle and sisters alike linked arms, elbowed the old boys', and spun sisterly webs of enterprise in entertainment, sports, journalism and society.

Our world is full of champion sisters (Venus and Serena Williams), stylish society sisters (Samantha, Victoria & Vanessa Traina), supermodel sisters (Frankie & Missy Rayder), achieving sisters (Kennedys galore), old-fashioned diva sisters (Joan and Jackie Collins), art sisters (Lola & Stella Schnabel), the British sisters (Fiona & Olympia Scarry), the twin sisters (Charlotte & Samantha Ronson), the mogul sisters (Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen) and the entrepreneur iconic heiresses (Paris & Nicky Hilton) and on and on.

Other notable sister acts include: Chyna & Bijou Phillips,  Ashley & Wynonna Judd, Janet & La Toya Jackson, Aly & AJ, Emily & Zooey Deschanel, Jessica & Ashley Simpson, Tia & Tamara, Dixie Chicks, Wilson Phillips, Hilary & Haylie Duff, Britney & Jamie Lynn Spears, Joely & Carrie Fisher, The Kardashians, Kim & Ruby Stewart, Georgia & Lizzy Jagger and the Double Mint Twins.

Happy Monday to all my sisters!

From your brother from another mother.

ITS A BIRD...ITS A PLANE...ITS OLSENBOYE!!!

Ashley Olsen & Mary-Kate Olsen at a welcome home party thrown by friends in Los Agneles, CA 2007Attention New York City!

Keep your eyes peeled for an Olsenboye truck cruising around New York selling merchandise and giving out cupcakes, balloons and pins.

What is Olsenboye you ask?  Great question.

Olsenboye is Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's new junior brand that will be exclusive to J.C.Penney Co.  For the last several seasons, Penney’s has been unleashing new labels and designer exclusives while singling out brands that have lost relevance, striving to modernize its image, catering to more of a teen and contemporary crowd and offering something different.

If you remember awhile back we went to the IRonson event in NY in support of designer Charlotte Ronson for her collaboration with the Penney's chain.

Olsenboye, which is the Olsens’ ancestral name, will fall into Penney’s good and better price tiers. Olsenboye is a casual sportswear and accessories collection that includes denim, bottoms, tops, dresses, skirts, shorts, jackets, handbags and shoes. The line will retail from $20 to $50 and is being designed to be mixed to create different looks. The brand also will periodically flow in travel-inspired mini collections, each reflecting the looks and trends of different cities.

“It’s very fun, fashion driven, trendy and wholesome at the same time,” said Liz Sweney, Penney’s executive vice president and general merchandise manager of women’s.

While it’s got the Olsens’ spirit, it’s not limited to their size, ranging from sizes 0 to 15. “It’s really important that Olsenboye serves lots of girls,” Sweney said. “It’s not just about girls size zero or one.”

Let's hear it for the boy...Olsenboye that is!  Congrats girls, you never cease to amaze us over at NeverWood High.
