NEVERWOOD HIGH WELCOMES U2 THE CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

Karl Lagerfeld painting on the CroisetteToday is the start of the Cannes Film Festival, which is one of the most prestigious of all the film festivals that has been around the longest.

During theses two weeks in the South of France you can expect to see Hollywood heavy-hitters, Movie Stars, the glitz, the glamour and most importantly yachts, yachts and more yachts.

Due to a friends wedding this weekend, I was unable to attend the festival this year.  But, I dug up an old video I made back in 2008 when I was there with Teen Vogue.

MISSONI, MR. CHOWS & DEREK BLASBERG... OH MY!

Any Vogue affiliated party, always.  A trashy fete thrown by your local Billionaire, ill take it!

Everyone knows the fun people rarely go out in Hollywood anymore, at least since Hyde Lounge back in 2006-2007.  But, last Thursday Derek Blasberg brought the class acts out from HYDE-ing.  

The "it girls", the socials, the important editors and my favorite "the euros!"

We started the night off at the new Missoni store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills for Derek's book party hosted by Kate Bosworth, Margherita Missoni, Nicole Richie and style.com's Editor-in-Chief, Dirk Standen.  After such a "CLASSY" celebration, VIP's went to Mr. Chow's where everyone definitely chowed down and drank up.

R.Kelly's song "Ignition" pretty much sums up how the rest of the night turned out...

Then after the show its the (after party)
And after the party its the (hotel lobby)
And round about 4 you gotta (clear the lobby)

LEIGHTON MEESTER'S PLAYHOUSE

Leighton Meester singing "Good Girls Go Bad"This past weekend our favorite upper east-sider flew out to LA and gave the girls something to gossip about.  Leighton Meester gave a special performance at Playhouse in Hollywood, CA.  Leighton started out with "Good Girls Go Bad" and ended with "Somebody to Love".  

Known to most of us as Blaire Waldorf, Leighton showed the crowd there was more to her than some juicy text messages sent on The CW.  After the show a select few were invited to continue the party upstairs, were Jordan Masterson was dj-ing.  The upstairs area kind of had the feeling, like when Baby from "Dirty Dancing" walked into the cabin of seductive dancing and swaying hips.

When my feet weren't dancing, my fingers were snapping... snapping my camera that is.  Many friends of NeverWood High were out that night, including Brent Bolthouse, Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth, Devon Aoki, Trevor Donovan, Jessica Szohr, Alanna Masterson and Rob Mayes who was celebrating his birthday.

THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH

and NO, I'm not talking about Disneyland...

If you have ever wanted to experience a true magical feeling in a galaxy far, far away.  With one of the most gorgeous backdrops, beautiful people and lavish parties.  Then gas up your yacht and cruise on over to The Cannes Film Festival.  Yesterday, was the last day of the festival and those lucky enough to continue the party. Have arrived in Monte Carlo for the Grand Prix.

I live for things that are over the top (over rated, over exposed, overboard, and saying "over it").  But, I will never grow old of the decadence that lives during those two weeks in the South of France.

Can't afford to go, then throw your own film festival in your own home.  Invite all your friends over, make them get all dressed up and host your own cocktail/dinner party and play your favorite movies in the background on silent, with your favorite tunes playing on your ipod.
