THE REST IS STILL UNWRITTEN... (NO BUT REALLY)

Lauren Conrad & Whitney Port in El Segundo for their Teen Vogue cover shootSpike, Adam Divello, Lauren Conrad & Whitney Port waiting in the Teen Vogue NY lobby at CondenastThere comes a time past or present when each generation can relate to a television character they grew up with.  Thanks to scheduled programming that helps define our culture and youth, here our just a few shows that you might remember (if you were alive).

1950's:  Ozzie & Harriet

1960's:  The Patty Duke Show, Gidget, The Monkees

1970's:  The Partdridge Family, The Brady Bunch, Happy Days, Welcome Back Cotter, The Facts of Life

1980's:  Charles in Charge, The Wonder Years, Doogie Howser M.D.

1990's:  Saved By the Bell & 90210, California Dreams, Clueless, Dawson's Creek,  Buffy the Vampire Slayer

MTV has always been ahead of the game when it comes to illustrating issues of young adults on reality TV.  You may have heard of a little show called The Real World that first started back in 1992.  A series about 7 strangers that discussed sexuality, prejudice and substance abuse.

Modeled after one of my favorite shows The O.C., MTV created what would be a decade of drama, romance and cast of characters that we would soon all fall in love with (or not).

Congratulations to Liz Gately, Tony Disanto & Adam DiVello on introducing us to a young girl's life from Laguna Beach named Lauren Conrad.

A reality show to most, real life for me...

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY LAUREN CONRAD

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Penthouse rooftop

Lauren Conrad & NeverWood High's Carlos E. Lopez at Justin Timberlake's concert in Madison Square Garden April 2007NeverWood High would like to wish Lauren Conrad a Happy Belated Birthday (on NWH)!!!

I was introduced to Lauren when she was about 18 or 19 years old and she is still the sweet genuine girl from Laguna Beach I first met.  Now 24, with two shows under her belt, endorsement deals and her own fashion line... I've always admired how she's stayed down to earth and well grounded.

NeverWood High helped Lauren blow out her birthday candles last Sunday at The Roosevelt Hotel Penthouse.

NWH invites Lauren Conrad to teach a class titled "The Secret of my Success", next semester.

Would you attend? tweet us @carlosncharge your answer.

NEVERWOOD HIGH'S FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER ♒

The ballroom at The Beverly Hilton for Clive Davis' Grammy party

Clive Davis giving a speechHey everyone,

I've been on a whirlwind of adventures in the past week and boy do I have stories to tell.

From the Art of Elysium's after party, to the Bahamas for Michael Jordan's Gold Tournament, then onto Clive Davis' Grammy celebration, singing Happy Birthday to Lauren Conrad and waking up today in Miami.

In the next couple of days I will post photos from these past events here on NeverWood High.  Along with a play by play of my week in South Beach for the Super Bowl.

Get ready to put in some after school hours for some extra credit, because this is going to be a busy month.

There's a lot happening this month, starting with Super Bowl, then off to Fashion Week, the Olympics in Vancouver and my birthday on the 17th.

Happy Jet-Setting!

LEIGHTON MEESTER'S PLAYHOUSE

Leighton Meester singing "Good Girls Go Bad"This past weekend our favorite upper east-sider flew out to LA and gave the girls something to gossip about.  Leighton Meester gave a special performance at Playhouse in Hollywood, CA.  Leighton started out with "Good Girls Go Bad" and ended with "Somebody to Love".

Known to most of us as Blaire Waldorf, Leighton showed the crowd there was more to her than some juicy text messages sent on The CW.  After the show a select few were invited to continue the party upstairs, were Jordan Masterson was dj-ing.  The upstairs area kind of had the feeling, like when Baby from "Dirty Dancing" walked into the cabin of seductive dancing and swaying hips.

When my feet weren't dancing, my fingers were snapping... snapping my camera that is.  Many friends of NeverWood High were out that night, including Brent Bolthouse, Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth, Devon Aoki, Trevor Donovan, Jessica Szohr, Alanna Masterson and Rob Mayes who was celebrating his birthday.

LAUREN CONRAD OUT OF THE HILLS AND INTO KOHL'S

Caprice Crane at Barnes & Nobles signing a copy of her book Family Affair

From book signings to dresses with inner linings our night was spent supporting the lovely ladies of LA.

Screenwriter, novelist & tv writer Caprice Crane was at Barnes & Nobles in The Grove, signing copies of her new book Family Affair.  Caprice is currently writing on The CW's Melrose Place and working on her 4th book, due early 2011.

After spending 20 minutes in The Grove parking lot, trying to remember where I parked my car...  I would like to give a special shout out to Juan Julio who drove me around on a little Grove cart in search of my wheels.

As soon as I got a hold of my bearings, I headed to Melrose Place for Lauren Conrad's Kohl's event.  I've never been more proud of someone then Miss Lauren C.  She always delivers everything with such class and good times for all.

Walking into the Kohl's party there was a huge Edward Scissor Hands type sculpture that was followed by models who stood as vignettes wearing Lauren's latest Kohl's collaboration.

Sliders were servered with lil hamburgers and LC-tinis were poured at the bar.  Music was provided by my two favorite brothers and DJ's, Danny Masterson (Mom Jeans) and Jordan "Jordy" Masterson.  I caught myself doing a double take as I saw a DJ AM sticker on the back of one of their laptops.

If only...

Overall the night was a success.  It's great to see those who do what they love and make it work for them. Whether its writing a book, to designing a fashion line or allowing someone to enjoy themselves through music you fill the air with.

You control your destiny - so follow your heart and your dreams (and have fun in between).
